Multiplication tables are the times tables every child learns from class 2 onward, and in Hindi they are called pahada (पहाड़ा). This page has a table maker for any number, a full chart of tables 1 to 20, and the Hindi pahada 2 se 20 tak, plus easy tricks that make the hard tables stick.
Type any number into the maker above, choose how far to go, and it writes out the full table. It is handy for big tables like 32 or 125, or for making a quick practice sheet.
Multiplication table 1 to 20
Here is the full chart from 1 to 20, each up to 10. The tables 1 to 10 are the base. Tables 11 to 20 build on them, so learn the first ten well before you move on.

How pahada is spoken
When you recite a pahada, each line has a special word for "times". Here is the table of 2 the way it is usually said:
| Pahada | हिंदी में | Answer |
|---|---|---|
The same words are used for every table. For example, तीन दूनी छह (3 x 2 = 6) and पाँच तिया पंद्रह (5 x 3 = 15). Saying it in a steady rhythm helps children remember.
Tricks for easy tables
- Table of 2: just double the number. 2 x 7 is 7 + 7 = 14.
- Table of 5: answers always end in 0 or 5. 5 x 9 is 45.
- Table of 10: put a zero after the number. 10 x 8 is 80.
- Table of 11: up to 9, repeat the digit. 11 x 6 is 66.
- Table of 4: double, then double again. 4 x 7 is 14 doubled, which is 28.
The magic of the table of 9
In the table of 9 up to 10, the digits of each answer add up to 9. Also, the tens digit goes up by one while the ones digit goes down by one.
| Sum | Answer | Digits add to |
|---|---|---|
| 9 x 1 | 9 | 9 |
| 9 x 2 | 18 | 9 |
| 9 x 3 | 27 | 9 |
| 9 x 4 | 36 | 9 |
| 9 x 5 | 45 | 9 |
| 9 x 6 | 54 | 9 |
| 9 x 7 | 63 | 9 |
| 9 x 8 | 72 | 9 |
| 9 x 9 | 81 | 9 |
| 9 x 10 | 90 | 9 |
How to learn tables 11 to 20
Split the bigger number into 10 and the rest. For 14 x 6, think 10 x 6 = 60 and 4 x 6 = 24, then add: 60 + 24 = 84. For 17 x 8, it is 80 + 56 = 136. With this method, you only need tables 1 to 10 to work out any table up to 20. Then practise each new table a few times until you can say it without stopping.
A simple practice plan
- Learn one table a day. Start with 2, 5 and 10, then 3, 4 and 11.
- Say it aloud, then write it from memory.
- Next day, revise the old table before starting a new one.
- Test in a mixed order, such as 7 x 8, 6 x 9 and 12 x 4.
- Once 1 to 20 is easy, try tables 21 to 30.
Hard facts worth extra practice
Most children find a few facts harder than the rest. Spend extra time on 6 x 7 = 42, 7 x 8 = 56, 8 x 6 = 48, 9 x 7 = 63, 12 x 12 = 144 and 13 x 7 = 91. Remember that order does not matter: 7 x 8 is the same as 8 x 7.
Single table pages
Each table has its own page with the full list, the pahada in Hindi and practice tips. Try the table of 2, table of 9, table of 12, table of 13, table of 17 or table of 19. For tables above 20, see the table of 25 and table of 30. For counting in Hindi, our Hindi ginti page will help.

Questions people ask
2 se 20 tak pahada kaise yaad kare?
Roz ek pahada bolkar aur likhkar yaad karo. 2, 5 aur 10 se shuru karo, kyunki ye sabse aasan hain. 11 se 20 tak ke liye number ko 10 aur baaki mein todo, jaise 14 x 6 = 60 + 24 = 84.
What is the multiplication table of 1 to 10?
It is the set of times tables for the numbers 1 to 10, each usually written from x 1 to x 10. These are the base tables every child learns first. The chart on this page shows them along with tables 11 to 20.
What is pahada in English?
Pahada (पहाड़ा) is the Hindi word for a multiplication table. When people say "2 se 20 tak pahada", they mean the times tables from 2 to 20. It is often recited aloud in a rhythm.
How do I learn the multiplication table 11 to 20?
Split the bigger number into 10 and its ones. For example, 16 x 7 is 10 x 7 plus 6 x 7, which is 70 + 42 = 112. This way, tables 1 to 10 are enough to work out tables 11 to 20.
Is there a printable multiplication table chart?
Yes. The tables 1 to 20 chart and the pahada chart on this page are laid out so you can print them. You can also use the table maker to create any table, such as 32 or 125, and print that.
